Arux has established an API integration with the state of Minnesota to provide child enrollment and attendance data to the state's Provider Hub. The data will be used to support Great Start Compensation Support Payment Program applications. The Great Start Compensation Support Payment Program was signed into law in May 2023 (Minnesota Statute, chapter 119B.27), providing Minnesota with a permanent program designed to support the child care industry and child care educators.

The program aims to improve access to early care and learning in Minnesota and strengthen programs' ability to recruit and retain early educators. Payments to providers under the program began in October 2023.

The state is committed to building a process for you to share electronic enrollment and attendance data that is effective, efficient, and equitable, and this API is one example of those efforts.

After a successful pilot program, our API is now available for all DHS-licensed programs using the Arux platform.

Emerging trends in state subsidy increases and data organization

Minnesota's new program aligns with nationwide trends. The after school industry is seeing increased child care subsidies within certain states for providers and an overall federal push for states to increase payments to child care providers. Some recent programs receiving increased funding from the state include:

The rise in these programs and the increases in state spending on child care subsidies show that this is an increasing market economy for providers.

However, with increased spending comes the need for more organization and efficiency in managing and reporting student data. In response, states are implementing systems to centralize their reporting. These systems are being mandated across the industry — from small, home-run child care programs to more enterprise, larger-scale districts with before and after care operations.

Arux's new application programming interface (API)

Arux is excited to champion this program as one of the first software platforms to establish an API for providing enrollment and attendance data to the state of Minnesota. Our API will automate the transmission of attendance data to the state, meeting a key requirement for child care and early learning providers seeking state support payments. The new API will not only help community education departments meet the state's data requirements and receive payments, but it will do so without requiring additional work or process change.

Arux Connect: Child Care for iOS streamlines attendance tracking and data sharing for onsite staff.

Collect data through Arux Connect: Child Care

All information the state requires is collected in real time using Arux via the Arux Connect: Child Care app for iOS. Arux automatically syncs this information with the Admin Portal in real time. Data collected will be transmitted to the state nightly, and any corrections made after the original transmission will be sorted automatically. In addition to data required by the state, Arux's iOS app also collects:

  • E-signatures

  • Attendance tracking (in-time and out-time)

  • Child profiles

  • Emergency contacts

  • Daily child updates

  • Location details

Streamline your reporting processes

Whether you need data to manage daily operations, meet state or county reporting requirements, or fuel growth strategies, Arux provides quick access to the information you need.

If you feel that any reporting processes limit your team, we would love to help. Schedule a 15-minute chat to learn more about how Arux streamlines attendance tracking and reporting, which can unlock new opportunities.
